NuChem Sciences awards scholarships to three promising students in Canadian universities

NuChem Sciences is pleased to announce a new fellowship to support and mentor three outstanding doctoral graduate students in the fields of organic synthesis or medicinal chemistry.

The first-ever NuChem Sciences Industrial Fellowship is designed for students in their final year of their doctoral level degree and entails a contribution of $20,000 CAD as financial support for each student over a 12-month period.

This year, three students were selected for the scholarship from three Canadian institutions: the University of Toronto, l’Université de Montréal and the University of Ottawa. This year’s cohort are:

– Jeanne Masson-Makdissi (University of Toronto)
– Montserrat Zian (University of Ottawa)
– Ramakotaiah Mulamreddy (Université de Montréal)

With the resurgence of activities in the Canadian pharmaceutical sector and the need to respond to the current pandemic, it is highly important to contribute to the training of future research scientists to bring new ideas and invigorate activities in the drug discovery field.

This fellowship will provide opportunities to enthusiastic and engaged individuals and assist them in becoming world-class scientists and firmly establishing Canadian scientific talent on the world stage.
