Associate Director, DMPK

About the role

At Sygnature Discovery, our DMPK scientists play an essential role in collaborating within an integrated drug discovery projects covering a broad range of molecular targets and therapeutic indications. We currently have an open position for a motivated Associate Director to support our DMPK team.  Our DMPK continues to grow to support our portfolio of clients and for this new position, the desired candidate will be a highly qualified, experienced in DMPK and capable of leading a team.

Job Profile

  • Represent DMPK as an integral member of project/core teams, providing scientific excellence and strategic leadership for all stages of drug discovery and early development;
  • Support business development with scientific proposal to help establish and grow the business;
  • Oversee the DMPK team to build internal DMPK assay capabilities to support drug discovery programs;
  • Support DMPK team to design and execute in vitro studies aimed at characterizing the DMPK/ADME properties of small molecule drug candidates;
  • Participate in conducting ADME assays along side the team and have a key role in recruitment and retention of key talent within the department;
  • Communicate DMPK data and provide interpretation of results to project teams, senior management, and other stakeholders;
  • Oversee the preparation of nonclinical DMPK/ADME reports and the relevant sections of documents for regulatory submissions (when appliable);
  • Provide input into the pharmacokinetic and design aspects of nonclinical pharmacology and nonclinical toxicology studies (when appliable);
  • Be a scientific leader and mentor.

Requirements

  • A MSc or Ph.D. in Biological Science, Chemistry, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacology or related discipline with 10+ years Industrial experience in Drug Discovery & Development.
  • Verifiable track record of drug discovery experience, success, and leadership, with experience in advancing programs through all stages of discovery to IND candidates.
  • Knowledge of various in vitro & in vivo ADME assays.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with diverse team of coworkers.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, enthusiasm, integrity, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
